Heike Allgayer is the Department Head of Experimental Surgery at the Mannheim Medical Faculty of University of Heidelberg, and also Head of the Molecular Oncology of Solid Tumor's Unit at German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), Heidelberg. Her major research interests include tumor progression, invasion and metastasis, molecular determinants of carcinogenesis and cancer progression, translational research, and molecular staging of cancer. She has authored 145 scientific publications and has received 19 scientific awards.
Helga Rehder, MD, PhD, former head of the Institute of Clinical Genetics of the Philipps-University Marburg, is now Guest Professor of the Department of Medical Genetics at University Vienna. As a Pathologist and Human Geneticist, her fields of research activities were 'Fetal Pathology and Syndromology' and 'Tumor Genetics'. Her publication list covers 138 papers and she has received four awards, including the Hans Nachtsheim-Award of the Society of Human Genetics and the Jacob Henle-Medal' of the University Göttingen. Helga Rehder is member of the Curatory of the Ingrid-zu-Solms-Foundation, and head of the Consultive Committee for the Ingrid zu Solms-Award for Woman-Scientists.
Simone Fulda is Full Professor of Pediatric Research and Head of the Clinical Research Group on Apoptosis at Ulm University, Germany. She trained as pediatric oncologist and molecular/cell biologist in Germany, Harvard Medical School Boston, San Francisco, Phoenix and in the UK. Her research focusses on elucidating apoptosis signaling pathways in cancer and during cancer therapy. She holds several international patent applications and has received various scientific awards, including the Schweizgurth Prize of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology, the Kind-Philipp-Prize of the German Society of Pediatric Oncology & Hematology, the Vincenz-Czerny Preis of the German Society of Hematology & Oncology, the Research Award of the Ingrid zu Solms-Foundation, Merckle Research Award, Johann-Georg-Zimmermann Award and the Heisenberg excellence grant of the German Science Foundation. She is member of several international advisory boards, editorial board member of Cancer Research and Recent Patents on Anti-Cancer Drug Discovery and Editor of "Apoptosis and Cancer Therapy" published by Wiley-VCH.
