In the present work, the physical condition was evaluated and cloacal samples were taken for isolation and bacteriological identification of the herpetofauna of the Chipinque Ecological Park. Fifty-four specimens of 14 different species were sampled, and their physical evaluation consisted of external examination, weighing, sexing and measuring. Only twelve specimens were found to have any body damage. Bacteriological isolation and identification was carried out by sowing in different agars, Gram staining, catalase, coagulase and oxidase tests and also by means of the Vitek automated microbiological identification system. A total of 33 different species of bacteria were isolated and identified, with a total of 450 strains: 293 Gram-negative and 157 Gram-positive. Twenty-nine strains were identified by the Vitek system. From the evaluation of the physical condition and the analysis of the herpetofauna's cloacal bacteria of the Chipinque Ecological Park, the health of the habitat was established, which we consider to be adequate and has not suffered major environmental impact due to human presence.
