Hi, I'd Like to Give You a Free Gift chronicles Whitford's journey to the creation of what he calls his Bus Stop Ministry, a mission to help others find salvation and everlasting life, and it shares the many lessons he learned throughout his experience.

In April of 1974, in a hotel in Rochester New York, the author had a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ and experienced the peace which passes all understanding. It was such an amazing event that he wanted to go out and share it with others. Not only did he want to tell them what happened, but he wanted them to experience that same peace which passes all understanding that he had experienced. The Author is a graduate of the University of Maryland, University College, where he studied computers and management information systems, and a graduate of Education Parish Services which is a four-year certificate program focusing on serving in the church.
