VELMA WAS BORN on October 11, 1942, in San Francisco, California. She grew up in Southern California and currently resides in Palm Desert, California, at the foot of the Santa Rosa Mountains with her husband, Norman Ristaino. She has three children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Prior to retiring, Velma was a successful businesswoman and now is a writer and motivational speaker.
