Jamil A. Shabazz was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado. A graduate of Overland High School and Metropolitan State University of Denver, earning his Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies. His introductory novel Not Another Night was self-published in 2016. Hiding Behind The Night is its sequel.
