Produktbeschreibung
This book presents a thermodynamic and economic analysis of gas-gas systems in power plants, including combined heat and power systems, combined cooling, heat and power systems, hydrogen production facilities and compressed energy storage system. A configuration for high-temperature gas-cooled nuclear reactor is also used as a heat source for the cycle.

The book compares different technologies, such as gas-steam and gas-gas systems, using optimized cases. It presents mathematical models that return optimal thermodynamic parameters of the cycles, and applies a novel continuous-time model in order to perform an economic analysis as well.

This book utilizes numerous illustrations and worked examples to thoroughly explain the technologies discussed, making it relevant for researchers, market analysts, decision makers, power engineers and students alike.

Autorenporträt
Professor Ryszard Bartnik is a well-known power engineering researcher and a scientist, specializing in heat and power generating technologies and power management. His research interests also include technical and economical problems of coal-fired and natural gas-fired heat and power generating plants. He worked at the Silesian University of Technology as Academic Teacher, then in design offices making some projects, before becoming Professor at the Opole University of Technology. He is the author or the co-author of 14 books. Dr. Tomasz Kowalczyk is a researcher at the Institute of Fluid-Flow Machinery Polish Academy of Sciences. He has published 11 reports and expert opinions for the industry and more than 40 scientific papers. His work for the industry includes primarily explaining the causes of fluid-flow machinery failures and proposals for their modernization. His scientific work is focused on the issues of cooperation between RES and fossil fuel-based power plants, energy storage and hydrogen technologies.Thank you!
