This book presents the results for the physical and chemical characterisation of co-disposal precipitates prepared from the co-disposal of acid mine drainage and fly ash. The prepared high capacity ion exchange adsorbents were characterised using fundamental characterisation tools such as X-ray Diffraction Spectrometry (XRD), X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (XRF), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectrometry (FTIR) and Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). This book presents the results for the physical and chemical characterisation of co-disposal precipitates prepared from the co-disposal of acid mine drainage and fly ash. The prepared high capacity ion exchange adsorbents were characterised using fundamental characterisation tools such as X-ray Diffraction Spectrometry (XRD), X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry (XRF), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectrometry (FTIR) and Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). The prepared zeolitic material were also applied in toxic element removal experiments, to assess its ability to reduce the concentrations of some heavy metal ions in wastewater.
