Jes McKay Gilmore is the founder of Species Spectrum LLC, a certified New Mexico True publishing company. She is an author, book designer, illustrator, photographer and dog lover. Jes is a graduate of the University of New Mexico. Previously, she ran a pet sitting business, worked as a location scout for the film industry and lived in South Africa. In South Africa Jes volunteered with several animal rehabilitation organizations and experienced life in the sub-tropical city of Durban. She has completed advanced Impact Personal Safety training and volunteered with the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society and the Santa Fe International Folk Art Market. She placed 2nd in a Toastmasters contest and enjoys conversing with people when she's not in the wilderness. Jes gives a lot of credence to anyone else pursuing the entrepreneurial business path and knows first hand the many challenges and mind set it takes to keep it all going. Jes is the creator of a unique greeting card stationery line of over 100 designs featuring rescue pets and wildlife she's met. She believes writing paper letters via snail mail still matters. She is the author of several children's books produced under the Species Spectrum(TM) brand and one non-fiction humorous book for adults on living off the grid.
