John Hughes is an academic and engineer. He developed the Cambridge Self Boring Pressuremeter and a number of key solutions for interpreting their data. Robert Whittle is co-owner of Cambridge Insitu Ltd, who manufacture and develop John's pressuremeters. He has written extensively on their use and interpretation.
