The study analyzed the contributions of professional development programs on faculty's professional competencies and to the university training and education practice as whole.This book consists of five chapters, references, and appendices. Chapter one includes background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, significance of the study, research questions, scope and limitations of the study. Chapter two emphasizes on a review of related literature. Chapter three describes the methodology and the general procedures of the study. Chapter four deals with research findings. Chapter five presents summary of the findings, conclusions, model for future deliberation of professional development programs and implications drawn from this investigation.

Yilfashewa Seyoum has conducted his first degree in Addis Ababa University, MEd and MPhil Degrees in education from Kurkshetra University, and MADE (Master of Art in Distance Education) at IGNOU, India. In June, 2013 he received his terminal degree(Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum Design and Development) from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.
