Autorenporträt
Dr. Shin is a professor at Seoul National University. Having served at the Korean Ministry of Education for nearly 20 years, his main research interests are in higher education policy, knowledge and social development, and academic professions. He is Co-editor-in-Chief of the International Encyclopedia of Higher Education and co-editor of the Knowledge Studies in Higher Education series (both from Springer), as well as a board member for the journals Studies in Higher Education, Tertiary Education and Management and Peabody Journal of Education. His recent book publications include University Rankings (2011), Institutionalization of World-Class University in Global Competition (2012), Teaching and Research in Contemporary Higher Education (2013), The Future of the Post-Massified University at the Crossroads (2013), The Dynamics of Higher Education Development in East Asia (2013), Mass Higher Education Development in East Asia (2015), and Doctoral Education for the Knowledge Society (2018).
