Marcus Woolf has worked as an editor and writer for outdoor adventure magazines and other media for more than 25 years. His writing has appeared in publications such as Outside and Backpacker. As a native of Huntsville, Marcus grew up on Monte Sano Mountain, where he discovered his love for hiking. After living in California for eight years, he returned to Huntsville to be closer to family and Alabama football. In 2009, Wilderness Press published his first hiking guidebook, Afoot & Afield: Atlanta. When he isn't mapping trails for books, Marcus enjoys backpacking, canoeing and kayaking with his wife, Wendy.
