R. David Coolidge received a PhD from the Graduate Theological Union and serves as Research Faculty for Bayan Islamic Graduate School, which partners with the Chicago Theological Seminary. He was previously at Brown University as the Associate University Chaplain for the Muslim Community, Dartmouth College as the Muslim Advisor, and New York University as an adjunct professor of Islamic law and ethics.
