It is pertinent to note that Odontogenic Keratocyst, Dentigerous cyst and Radicular cyst are commonly encountered cysts and an understanding of their histopathogenesis is important so as to acknowledge the relevance of their individual behavior. Odontogenic cysts which are most commonly encountered in the dental practice are the Radicular cyst and the Dentigerous cyst. Apart from these cysts, Odontogenic Keratocysts also hold significance which previously were considered as developmental cysts but now a days are considered as a benign Odontogenic neoplasm due to their aggressive nature.Besides these cysts, Ameloblastoma a benign locally invasive epithelial Odontogenic tumor arising in the jaws, is of relevance since SMA is believed to be locally aggressive and has the tendency for recurrence.
