El Dr. Harry R. Boer es conocido hoy en día por su literatura teológica y por su labor como fundador y director del Theological College of Northern Nigeria (TCNN), que dirigió durante catorce años. Later, when he returned from a three-year mission in Africa, he continued to broaden his knowledge by taking more courses, this time at Union Theological Seminary in New York. He taught one year at Calvin Seminary before beginning his doctoral studies at the Free University of Amsterdam. In 1957, while finishing his doctorate, he moved back to Nigeria as a missionary, where he also founded TCNN.
