Rutherford is a local area tour guide in Winchester, VA and Lancaster, PA. He has a degree in History from Middle Tennessee State University and is on the board of directors for the Civil War Museum. He has created and maintains a website and newsletter. Rutherford is also the author of Luckee's Elbow Room, a book of humor based on an old Irish Saloon owner in Lancaster, PA
