JoAnn Semones, PhD, boarded her first ship at age three, instilling a lifelong love of ships and sea sagas. She is best known for her series about shipwrecks at lighthouses along the central California coast. Her stories have appeared in a variety of history and maritime publications, and she is featured in a maritime video at the San Mateo County History Museum.
