The book chronicles the historiography of the evolution of the local outdoor advertising industry between 1920 and 2012, with the view to identifying and documenting the personalities as well as outdoor advertising agencies that pioneered the local industry. It also sought to trace the systematic technological developments that have occurred in the local outdoor advertising industry, the factors that initiated the developments, the impact of modern technology on the local industry and the challenges that have characterized the local industry till date, the upshot of which provided the impetus for making projections and recommendations into the future of outdoor advertising in Ghana. Being an outcomes of a research work, the content of this book entails a smooth thematically analyzed data from authentic primary sources that renders it adequate in supporting the solution of real educational problem in the teaching and learning of visual Art in Ghana.

Dr. Patrique deGraft-Yankson's background is in Art Education. He is a professionally trained teacher and practicing Graphic Designer. His research interests include pedagogical implications of ICTs in the Ghanaian Visual Art Education. His current project involves the development of framework for effective integration of ICTs in Ghanaian schools.
