Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) were established to educate America's Black population when segregation laws prohibited Blacks and Whites from attending the same schools. For nearly 200 years, HBCUs have produced some of the country's brightest stars. Their ever-evolving mission has allowed HBCUs to remain relevant while providing affordable education to new and more diverse generations.
