The present work " History Of Assam Based on Persian Sources: An Analytical Study is an endeavor to bring to light the Persian sources which are the basic source for the study of medieval history of Assam. The Persian chronicles written during the different times during the different spheres of the Muslim invasion on Assam circulates the evidences of the history of that time. They are of significant importance for confirming the authenticity of the interlinked political events mentioned in the Buranji s the Yogini Tantras and Charit Puthis which are considered to be the local historical documents of Assam. They also through sidelight on the history and culture of ancient Assam. These sources are broadly classified into several categories, such as the eye witnesses, contemporary records, and subsequent compilations and so on. I do hereby admit that I took up this theme for my research work considering the basic need of it and tried my level best to do justice to the theme of the research work. I have visited to different libraries all over the country in search of source materials related to my research work.
