The present work exposes the main transformations occurred in Las Tunas in the educational field from 1959 to the present time from the perspective of a historical analysis. It reflects facts and processes that reveal important aspects of the evolution of secondary and pre-university schools in the countryside (ESBEC and IPUEC), polytechnics and the Pre-University of Exact Sciences (IPVCE) Luis Urquiza Jorge. The author shows unpublished data of different institutions and levels of education, found during his research in archives of his province and other territories of the country.
