About thirty years ago my Christian manager, Dave Anderson was signing up dealers for my water pollution control business. Dave walked into the office of a Jew, Steve Tvedten and the first things he noticed were the huge knife on Steve's belt and the sign on the wall, "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for I am the meanest S.O.B. in the valley." About thirty years ago my Christian manager, Dave Anderson was signing up dealers for my water pollution control business. Dave walked into the office of a Jew, Steve Tvedten and the first things he noticed were the huge knife on Steve's belt and the sign on the wall, "Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for I am the meanest S.O.B. in the valley." Dave took out a book he was reading that I had written but never published entitled How to Utterly Defeat the Enemy or Have Fun Trying. He handed it to Steve. Steve read the entire book that night and by morning was a born again Spirit-filled Christian. A year later Steve sent me his chronology of the events in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. It included thousands of Old and New Testament references, plus many Jewish ceremonies concerning Biblical events. An example is "The Folded Napkin" that I have included in this book. Steve told me that if I wanted to rewrite his book and publish it, go ahead. Thirty years later, here is my book in which I incorporate Steve's chronology with the history of the time of Christ along with the Aramaic meanings of many words and idioms. Jesus and His disciples spoke Aramaic Hebrew rather than Greek or Latin and the Aramaic meanings add an interesting understanding of what actually occurred. The result is a very different and interesting history of the life of Jesus, the Bread of Life that came down from heaven to give us everlasting life and shed His blood as a sacrifice to pay for our sins. Understanding what Jesus meant, such as when He cursed the fig tree or folded His napkin adds a new perspective to history and Jesus' prophecies.
