Britain in 1989 in the days before the fall of the Thatcher Government, an often brutal place of dissenters, misfits and drifters. Among them, Billy and Max, two friends on the road, escaping their demons and searching for a better way of life. Hitch-hiking around the North, they land in Manchester's infamous Hulme Estate and collide into Elsa's world, a community buried in the chaos of the final days of the Estate. All three are seeking answers to their problems and soon discover they might be found in places they least expected. This is a gritty, picaresque Bromance that explores notions of freedom, displacement and of love. It captures the extraordinary everyday lives of those like Max, Billy and Elsa living in the anarchic squats of Glasgow and the notorious Hulme Crescents of Manchester, revealing tensions in their relationships that will ultimately have a profound effect on all three.
