The study aims to identify the knowledge of the elderly about the presence of HIV/AIDS in old age. The World Health Organization (WHO) considers as elderly the individual aged 60 years for those living in developing countries like Brazil and 65 years for those living in developed countries. In this way, it is worth noting that the HIV and AIDS epidemic in seniors at national level represents a major public health problem in the last ten years, due to the increasing number of notification of the transmission of HIV infection in seniors, these events occur due to the increase in sexual practice of the elderly due to advances in medicine and pharmaceutical industries with the creation of sexual stimulants drugs.
