Through application of phenomenological method, desktop research and interviews, the study investigates on hoko (the rite of male circumcision) among Shangani people, in light of HIV and AIDS mitigation. The ritual forms one of the key moments in the rhythmic life of people and constitutes a vibrant mark of continuity in African indigenous cultural identity.
Autorenporträt
Suspicion Mudzanire, a graduate of Zimbabwe Christian College; Great Zimbabwe University and Stellenbosch University. He is a pastor in the Churches of Christ and is currently the Senior Chaplain at Mashoko Christian Hospital in Masvingo Province of Zimbabwe. He lives there with his dear wife, Dolce and their lovely daughter Oshea.
