Rosie is an outgoing child with a zest for life. She has Down syndrome. Casey is a quiet, sensitive boy who is diagnosed with Autism. These children have unique personalities with individual strengths, abilities, likes and dislikes. They each encounter different challenges in their day-to-day activities. Their parents come together to help deal with some of these challenges. They too have become good friends. Rosie and Casey are best friends. They are three-year-olds who attend the same community preschool. Debra was born in London, Ontario, Canada. Shortly after college graduation, she moved to Alberta. She has remained in the Edmonton area for much of the time. The author's forty-year career as a child development specialist working in various early intervention programs has been both exciting and fulfilling. She values her experiences of supporting families who have children with delays and disabilities. Debra advocates endlessly for children of all abilities to be accepted and included.
