Shirli Gilbert is professor of modern history and director of the Parkes Institute for Jewish/non-Jewish Relations at the University of Southampton. She is the author of Music in the Holocaust and From Things Lost: Forgotten Letters and the Legacy of the Holocaust (Wayne State University Press, 2017). Avril Alba is senior lecturer in Holocaust Studies and Jewish Civilization at the University of Sydney. She is the author of The Holocaust Memorial Museum: Sacred Secular Space and the curator of several major exhibitions including The Holocaust at the Sydney Jewish Museum in 2017.
