Betsy is a writer and blogger, but most importantly is mom to her now 24 year old daughter, whom she and her husband homeschooled starting in kindergarten. They found homeschooling to be the best way for their daughter to learn, as they could not only teach their family's faith based values day by day, but also tailor her learning to her individual needs. Betsy continued homeschooling her through high school, when she began writing about their journey on her blog, BJ's Homeschool at https://www.bjshomeschool.com. During that time she helped her daughter get into college, doing the research on college admissions for homeschoolers all around the U.S. Her daughter got into each of the colleges on her list, with scholarship offers, which was such a blessing. Betsy then shared tips for doing your own high school journey in her first edition of "Homeschooling High School with College in Mind". And her daughter did the initial formatting and appeared on the cover of the first edition! Later, in this 2nd edition shown above, Betsy updated her book to include new information on things like the Common College Application, with her step-by-step guide. She also added new chapters on finding college scholarships, test prep for SAT or ACT, and more, which are all in the second edition available here on Amazon. Betsy is a long time homeschooler and a former Occupational Therapist who came home to educate her 2e daughter and to be there as a full time mom. She lives in WA state and enjoys gardening, knitting/hand arts with church friends and lots of hiking, with her camera in tow. Her daughter is now a college grad, who earned a B.A. in Communications, and is working in her field. Betsy's mission is to help and encourage moms and to make homeschooling high school easier and more fun, for any and all high school teens, whether they are headed to college or not.
