Michael Scherperel is a composer, conductor, vocal coach, and collaborative pianist with a background in science and medicine as well. He has studied at Harvard, the Eastman School of Music, the University of Miami, and Tufts School of Medicine. His first novel, Fair to Middling, was written at about the same time as his second opera, Thompson's Luck.
