Michael K. Johnson is professor of English at University of Maine at Farmington. He is author of Black Masculinity and the Frontier Myth in American Literature and Can't Stand Still: Taylor Gordon and the Harlem Renaissance, the latter published by University Press of Mississippi. His work has also been published in African American Review, Literature/Film Quarterly, Quarterly Review of Film and Video, and Western American Literature.
