Based on the Little Red Riding Hood folktale, structurally, it borrows from the films Rashomon and The Usual Suspects, as well as frequently intertwining various plots. The film's setting uses the same type of anachronistic and satirical mixing of modern and fantasy culture as the Shrek films.
