Vince Bonkoski was born in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in Carneys Point, New Jersey, with his wife, Jane, and five pet birds. He received his BS degree in English at West Chester University, where he quarterbacked the 1960 and 1961 football teams to two consecutive Pennsylvania State College championships. After earning his MA degree in English from Rowan University, Mr. Bonkoski attended Rutgers University and the University of Delaware. While a student at the University of Delaware, he received the Academy of American Poets Award for three sonnets. During thirty years of teaching English in high schools and colleges in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Mr. Bonkoski was head football coach in three New Jersey high schools and head baseball coach in one Pennsylvania high school. Mr. Bonkoski's poems have been published in the New Jersey English Journal, the Aurorean, Moonshade, and other journals.
