Ripley is a professor of Clinical Psychology at Regent University, Virginia, sharing the Hughes Chair for Integration of Mental Health. As a licensed clinical psychologist, she directs the couple lab at Regent University, supervises many couple therapists, and sees dozens of couples per year, testing the ideas for this book in a real-world therapeutic setting.
