Hope Unshakeable Spouse Loss is a biblically-based workbook that helps a spouse navigate his or her grief journey after the death of a spouse. The workbook parallels the other Hope Unshakeable editions in such a way that the widow or widower can process with others what they are learning. Each chapter includes a spouse loss story written by other parents, a scripture with a short devotional, and a self-care article that highlights some of the aspects of grief. The middle chapter takes a pause from the stories and readings to give the spouse a chance to share his or her own story of loss, empowering him or her to confidently and coherently share with others. Oftentimes, the death of a spouse can leave one feeling alone in his or her grief. Hope Unshakeable Spouse Loss helps them know that they are not alone! Together Hope Happens!

Autorenporträt
Jeff and his wife Mackenzie, who experienced the loss of their daughter Zoe, are the founders and visionaries behind Hope Family Care, a nonprofit organization that brings hope and healing to child loss families. Through the sending of Hope Bags, Hope Family Retreats, and online & local communities, Hope Family Care has walked with hundreds of families throughout the United States, Canada, and Latin America. All of their married lives, the Rollins's have been ministering together. They have had the privilege of being youth leaders, ministering to students in the various schools where they have taught, as missionaries in Ecuador, through lay counseling, training, and teaching discipleship, and now as the founders of Hope Family Care. Jeff and Mackenzie live just north of Houston, Texas with three of their children, with great anticipation of being reunited with their daughter in Heaven one day soon. Mackenzie was born and raised in western Ohio. She attended Olivet Nazarene University where she earned bachelor degrees in Elementary Education and Spanish. She later completed her Master of Arts in Reading Specialist at San Diego State University. She has a passion for teaching, family discipleship, and helping others find Hope amidst their pain and suffering. Jeff grew up as the son of missionaries in Venezuela and attended a boarding school in Quito, Ecuador. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Wheaton College (IL) and later his Master's degree in Teaching Secondary Education from National University in San Diego, CA. He is passionate about walking with people through their brokenness and pain into a place of wholeness and healing. He loves teaching and speaking about how to find true Hope in the midst of the chaos of life. Amy Ward, was born and raised in Iowa but has lived in Texas for the majority of her adult life. Amy is the mom to a deep thinker and tender hearted five year old boy as well as a tenacious, passionate, caring three year old girl. In her free time Amy enjoys writing, dancing, outdoor recreation, being a mom, laughing with friends and family and going deep with others. Amy has always had a heart and desire to serve the Lord in areas where people find themselves in pain, trials and suffering. She has always longed to serve and love the marginalized communities. She has been able to do this both through work and volunteer opportunities. Amy's vocational training is in social work, she received her Masters in Social work in 2012. Vocationally Amy has provided years of counseling with children and families who have experienced trauma and/or grief. Amy has also volunteered with various urban ministries in Austin, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona. Amy is passionate about loving and serving the local church and currently serves her local church in various leadership positions. Amy was widowed in 2018 when her husband Bill passed away from a tragic accident. Losing Bill has been the most painful event Amy has walked through. However, she has seen and experienced God in tremendous ways. His faithfulness to her children and herself has been so evident. Amy always says, "It hasn't always been easy or looked very pretty on this journey of widowhood with small children yet God has always been faithful." Most recently, through the loss of her own husband, Amy has found a new passion and stirring from Christ to love and serve widows. The Lord has opened opportunities for her to serve widows through becoming a certified coach with Nothing is Wasted Ministry, to walk others through the Pain to Purpose course. She is also a leader with Songs in the Night Ministry through leadership care and development. Brooke Talley has called a small Florida beach town her home since 2009 and is a native to Birmingham, AL. She is mom to a sweet and active 5-year-old boy, lover of the James 1:27 call, a thinker, writer, seminary student at Asbury, and founder of the ministry Songs in the Night. Brooke also enjoys homeschooling, working as an Autism Therapist, and coaching through Nothing is Wasted Ministries. Brooke is the visionary behind Songs in the Night. Songs in the Night is a ministry that was birthed in the aftermath of a tragedy that hit her home in 2017. Brooke's husband, Doug, passed away unexpectedly after 11 years of marriage. As God led Brooke on a healing journey, Songs in the Night emerged as well. The ministry exists to see, support and strengthen young widows on the lifelong journey of processing the pain of unexpected loss. We believe that with the support of a faithful community, the depths of grief can propel us into even deeper places with God. Through outreach, long-term discipleship, and resources we come alongside widows while also supporting the local Church as they care for widows around the world. In her spare time, Brooke is regularly found reading, enjoying the outdoors with her son Hayes and their yellow lab Jax, or listening to some favorite music. Brooke and Hayes expect to see God's continued faithfulness in their lives as they move forward as disciples of Jesus Christ who modeled a hard, yet beautiful way to live courageously in the already-not yet.
