D.P. Whitehead is currently a landscape designer, father of three, a grandfather of eight, and a husband of one. He has written and illustrated several children's books such as "If I were a Space Moose", "Ganga's Garden", "Growing Together", "Horace the Hawk" and the "Captain Shellfish" series. "Captain Shellfish Visits the Neosho National Fish Hatchery" has been featured on the cover of "Fishlines" magazine, a signed copy now resides in the National Conservation Training Center archives. With a background in nature and working with children, he realizes the importance of connecting these vital resources.
