When he's not cutting next winter's firewood, pulling weeds in the garden, or off on an adventure with his wife, Patricia, Michael Freed-Thall is probably staring at his computer waiting for inspiration. When he retired after thirty years as a teacher and principal in Vermont schools, he took up writing. He is a past director of the Burlington Writers Workshop and in 2018 co-edited that organization's annual publication. He received a scholarship to the Vermont Studio Center, and was chosen for the Writer to Writer Mentorship Program with the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP). He finished his first book, "Horodno Burning," a novel about literature, freedom, and Jewish survival, because of those opportunities. Learn more at michaelfreedthall.com.
