This work is the result of research work in the framework of the Master's course in Public Affairs and Governance, carried out at the Columbia University of Paraguay in 2020. The implementation of a good information system is essential in the hospitals of Paraguay, because the programs, systems or other methods used such as spreadsheets are becoming obsolete in relation to the current needs and demands. That is why the best option is the digitalization of the health information system.This research made it possible to determine the results and implications of the implementation of the HIS in the District Hospital of Limpio, to know the characteristics and the perception of the actors involved for the identification of the problems related to the administration or management, processes, resources and users, allowing in this way to find the benefits, solutions and adequate improvements for the optimization of the hospital service.We hope that this work, elaborated with effort and dedication, transmits enough information for the society that longs for the improvement of the quality of life.
