While those prayer books include many phrases from Scripture, they are not Scripture itself. "Hourly Prayer from Scripture Alone" offers only excerpts of Scripture for every hour throughout the week. The content of this book comes primarily from the Psalms, plus prayers of the New Testament, and excerpts of verses which can be prayed as confessions of faith. Psalms and other passages were edited into an average of 22 verses per hour for an average reading time of six minutes, or a tithe of each hour of the day. Also included are four "Night Watches" containing the longest Psalms, plus a compilation of readings related to the Lord's Supper. We can all pray more, and this collection of Hourly Prayers from Scripture Alone will fan the flames of our worship and intercession.
