This book is the outcome of extensive research project, which took place in Rural Akoko Communities of Ondo State, Nigeria between 2014 & 2015. In rural communities of sub-Saharan Africa, household economic activities have been fraught with diverse challenges due to system of organising the household units. Rural communities are rife with diverse cultural forces; & as a result, many people in rural communities are economically insecured. The effects of these cultural forces have been evident in the economic conditions of many rural households that subject them to various incidences of insecurities and healthcare challenges. As household economic strategies has been identified as crucial in healthcare seeking behaviour; yet little has been done to examine how household economic strategies predispose rural dwellers to healthcare challenges. Inspite of policies and programmes designed to improve healthcare-seeking behaviour of rural dwellers; they are yet to be secured health wise.
