This study is entitled "Housing crisis in the Yaoundé I (Bonamoussadi) university residence zone and living conditions". The purpose of this study is to show that many factors explain the housing crisis in the university residence zone (ZRU) and their effects are unfavorable to health. Indeed, the lack of housing in ZRU has become a risk factor for the safety of residents, due to the increasing promiscuity. The problematic developed leads us to the following research question: does the housing crisis in university residence areas have an impact on living conditions? Our quantitative data collection technique follows a comprehensive and explanatory approach. Following the analysis of the field data, all our hypotheses were confirmed. Of the total 98 respondents, 60.76% do not feel comfortable in their living environment, compared to 39.24%. 88.89% said that safety is not guaranteed in the ZRU and 11.11% said the opposite. 85.71% found their living environment to be a health risk and 14.29% said the opposite.
