Autorenporträt
Sam(antha) M. Burns is the owner/operator at the Runamuk Acres Conservation Farm in New Portland, Maine. Since the age of 16 she has practiced homesteading, officially establishing her farm in 2010 as a tenant-farmer. Beekeeping enabled Sam(antha) to grow her business even as a landless-farmer, until 2018 when she was finally able to make her dream of farm-ownership come true. The Runamuk Acres Conservation Farm is a diverse operation with a focus on cultivating wildlife conservation through methods of regenerative agriculture. With the help of her son, BraeTek, Sam(antha) produces organic vegetables, eggs, baked goods and lamb, all of which is sold directly from Runamuk's farmstand. The farm boasts a farmstayBnB, listed with AirBnB, as well as a remote campsite. With miles of trails running through protected wildlife habitat, Runamuk is growing as a local ecological reserve, offering the public an opportunity to connect with nature one-on-one. Still maintaining Runamuk's farm-blog, Sam(antha) writes about agriculture and farm-life, authenticity and life in the wilds of Maine. Currently serializing her first romance novel, "On Blackstone Farm" Sam(antha)'s written works can be found at Substack. "How to Buy a Farm With No Money" is her first full-length book.
