Autorenporträt
Christine Thompson-Wells trained as a florist in London. She has owned and run many successful florist shop businesses and taught many students in her own floristry school and taught floral design, art, visual merchandising and many other subjects at the Canberra Institute of Technology and is a Further Education teacher. Christine, because of the need for florists to enter the workforce, initiated the commercial floristry course in1984 at Canberra Institute of Technology where the course is still running at Bruce Campus, Bruce, Canberra in the Australian Capital, Australia. She says, 'the course took four long years to bring to fruition but, thankfully, it's still running in 2021.' After selling one of her businesses, Christine was appointed as the florist for the Prime Minister and Mrs Fraser at the Prime Minister's Lodge, Canberra, Australia. During that time she created the floral arrangements for one of the Queen's visits to Australia; she has been a writer for Flora International where her work was published to a worldwide audience. Feeling the need to know more, after selling one of the businesses, Christine went to university to study Education and Psychology. She says, 'the reason I went to university was that I wanted to know why people bought flowers?' This question has led her on to do a great deal of writing and has had many books and articles published on the study of human behaviour. She writes within a large genre which includes: children's books, books on mind health and wellbeing, poetry and a range of other subjects.
