This dynamic trio suddenly find themselves having to get along in the world for the first time. The friends learn valuable lessons in this wonderful new place. Experiencing life through the eyes of these characters allows children to learn in a fun and interactive way. This is the central concept of Kinderwise®. Parents and educators may also use their reading time as a conversation starter and delve into the real-life experiences of their children by using the "Suggested Reading Methods" outlined at the beginning of the book. Kinderwise is the brainchild of a husband and wife team based in Southern California. They noticed that much of what they taught their child could be described as the How-To's of Life! They wanted to present these subjects in a way that children would remember. With extensive input from childcare professionals, teachers, and children, the EQ (emotional intelligence) book series "The HOW-TO's of Life" was born. "How to describe my feelings" is an easy-to-use tool that uses Kinderwise characters to display common emotions that children feel and encounter. Why an EQ (emotional intelligence) book series? The desire to write an EQ book series stems from the personal experience of the female founder of Kinderwise. Raised by an orphaned mother and a highly intelligent, yet anti-social father, she found social interaction to be a challenge as a child. Later, as an adult, she realized that empathy, awareness of feelings, and people skills formed the foundation for a successful, happy life. While teaching these skills to her own child, she dreamt of sharing this part of her son's life through the eyes of three imaginary characters that were brand-new to the human world. Much like children, they had to learn how to get along with each other and others. The How-To's of Life book series was born.
