Father F. X. Schouppe, S. J., author of the book Purgatory Explained by the Lives and Legends of the Saints describes the situation thusly: "They are historical facts, based upon human testimony. It is permitted to believe them, and piety finds wholesome food in them. We may, however, disbelieve them without sinning against faith; but they are authenticated, and we cannot reject them without offending against reason; because sound reason demands that all men should give ascent to truth when it is sufficiently demonstrated." I researched and studied hundreds of these authenticated cases of people who already in Heaven, along with revelations in which a Heavenly visitor promised someone on earth that they would go to Heaven, such as St. Bernadette of Lourdes, and the three seers of Fatima, and through a process of pattern recognition, I found four key steps that all of these souls now residing in Heaven did when they were here on earth in order to achieve eternal salvation. There were no exceptions. They ALL practiced these four steps. Not surprisingly, these same four steps are fully verified by the Bible, as well as the teachings of the Church. They used to be known and practiced by all Christians; however, modern society has done everything it can to erase them from public consciousness. I also studied many cases in which someone who was condemned to hell made their situation known, and not one of them practiced these four steps. In other words, everyone that we know with certainty is now in Heaven followed these four steps, and everyone that we know with certainty is now in hell didn't follow them.
