Autorenporträt
Alexandra and her husband are high school sweethearts, who always knew they wanted to have a family together. In 2015, she and her husband started trying to have children, and quickly realized they would need help, and that IVF would be their only option. They felt lucky when their first round of IVF gave them in their first son in 2017. Quickly after, Alexandra and her husband decided to try for another child, recognizing it could take some more time given her diagnoses. They had no idea what they were in store for. Between 2017 - 2019, they went through six cycles of IVF and lost four pregnancies, which was an incredibly difficult time for their family. Alexandra has been diagnosed with many infertility issues, and eventually found out that she could no longer carry a pregnancy full term, even when IVF did work. Their final option for a second biological child was surrogacy. They matched with an incredible person, and finally are having their second son at the end of 2020! It's been a very long, difficult road, but she hopes to help others by sharing her story and what she's learned.
