Lecture is one of the best teaching learning method even in health science education. Lecture is inexpensive, time saving and teacher dominant method. It has its own pros and cons. One of the big disadvantage of lecture is passivity .But passivity can be overcome by using different interactive techniques. With proper preparation; planning and appropriate use of audiovisual aids, lectures can be made more effective and interesting. Considering all above elaborate discussion about lecture, author is confident about wide and multifaceted usefulness of lectures in health science education. Author has done two educational research projects on how to make lectures more effective and interesting. 1) Perception of short cinema and video clips in Forensic Medicine teaching: An innovative teaching learning method. 2) Impact of Post-lecture Immediate Textbook Reading of Taught Topic on Learning and Knowledge of Health Science Students: An Innovative Teaching-learning method to promote Excellence in Health Science Teaching.
