The book talks about all the socio-economic, environmental and urbanistic problems that the city of Kinshasa has been experiencing since the accession of our country to independence until today.Kinshasa, which was a resplendent city, competing in beauty with other Western cities, has seen over time its charm of the largest and most beautiful city in Central Africa, almost transformed into the qualifier of a giant garbage can. Thus, in the first volume of our book, we pinpointed two approaches, namely the structural approach, which gives clues on the composition and functioning of the structures that run the city of Kinshasa, and the functional approach, which deals with all the functions and economic, social, environmental and urban planning activities organized in the city of Kinshasa. We have also proposed adequate solutions to the thorny problems that affect the improvement of the standard of living of the Kinois.
