STEVE BRAUNIAS is the literary editor of Newsroom's books section Reading Room and a staff writer at the New Zealand Herald. He has won over 40 national writing awards, including The New Zealand Post Book Award for Non-fiction, the Buddle Finlay Sargeson Fellowship and the Copyright Licensing Limited New Zealand Writers ' Award, and been awarded fellowships to Oxford and Cambridge Universities.
