My life demanded a positive redirection, giving me no choice but to delve deep into my psyche, dissect my experiences, and uncover my flaws. I struggled to choose a topic, craving candidness and self-reflection. That's when I decided to share the macabre events of a tumultuous romance with a man who revealed a much darker side than I ever expected. Before our love-hate relationship began, I was already stuck by the blatant accusations and severe harassment that spiralled into chaos, reminiscent of Dante's Inferno.Greetings, I'm M. L. Stark, and I've always dreamed of writing a book about my life. I was married for 20 years, having four lovely kids and now some adorable grandkids. But can you believe I ended up with a psycho after my divorce? That experience led me to write "Hugger-Mugger: The Con Man Smile - Part 1," where I used my own experiences, though I changed all the names. It was like living in a dark hole, stuck in a toxic and abusive relationship. Initially, I planned to keep my secrets hidden, unsure if it was wise to bottle up my pain. While there were good memories, many were sad and truly messed me up. Writing this story allowed me to gain a bird's-eye view of my past, hoping to reclaim my old self and the wisdom from my experiences. And I did. I realized that being too good to the wrong people can really drag you down.If the story feels intense, it's because it's based on actual events. It's no joke! The entire ordeal was mind-boggling, thanks to the narcissist's actions. And if you think I'm just a bitter ex, think again-you're dead wrong! At first, I didn't know the fancy terms like psychopath, sociopath, or covert narcissist, so I was confused about which to use. But I wasn't a psychologist; I was just trying to understand how awful it felt to be trapped in his web of lies and needed to figure out who he really was by comparing his actions to how he presented himself. And guess what? He was just putting on a show of being nice, but deep down, he was a heartless person with no morals. That's when I began researching these types of people. I wanted to share my story to help others avoid the same fate. I came to realize how many people actually need help to escape abusive relationships. If my story could make a difference in even one woman's life, I'd consider it mission accomplished.I know it's easy to say, "Just leave the abusive relationship," but it's far from simple. Many women end up going back to their abuser, and it always ends in disaster. I realized that many women are forced into exploitation by some crazy guy, but the opposite can happen too. We all agree-the abuser belongs in the trash, not the victims. That's why I wanted to share my experience through this story. Abuse leaves you feeling low, and I've gone through the same nightmare. It freaked me out when he ruined everything for me and everyone else. Being abused was nerve-wracking and absolutely not okay. That's when I finally bolted out of there.Even though my story mainly focuses on male abusers, I want to give hope to male readers as well. Women can also be abusive, so men have every reason to be concerned. However, most of the research I found on psychopathic abuse indicates that men are more often the abusers. Sorry, guys, I can't argue with the stats-three out of four abusers were men, maybe even more.Brace yourself for this gripping story, and thanks for taking an interest in my journey.
