Somewhere in the time before her years working as an illustrator, Laurie Sienkowski was a child. She was quiet and a bit awkward, busy with her books and pencils, telling stories to her dog and drawing tiny faces on clothespins. Time passed and after graduating from college, she took a job designing greeting cards for a large company. It was interesting and also baffling. Sienkowski returned to Michigan, her native state, to create art for the advertising and publishing markets and raise four lovely children who are now grown. They are all, in turns, brilliant, baffling and awkward. She and her husband enjoy travel and family dinners and live with their sweet and neurotic dog, Cinder
